1. MIG Welding
Metal Inert Gas Welding is one of the easier types of welding for newbies to learn. It has two different types of Welding. Bare Wire and Flux Core.
Bare wire is used to join thin pieces of metal together and flux core is used outdoors because it does not need a flow meter or gas supply. DIY enthusiasts usually do MIG welding and it is also used by people as a hobby. People, who don’t afford expensive equipment also use it.
2. Stick Welding
Stick welding is also known as Arc welding. It is a bit harder to master than MIG welding. If you want to have a go at home, you can pick up a stick welding equipment for every little. It uses a stick electrode welding rod.

3. TIG Welding
TIG welding is also one of the more difficult welding techniques to learn and Lincoln Electric TIG welders are skilled individuals.
You need two hands for TIG welding. One feeds the rod whilst and other one is for holding a TIG torch. This torch works to create the heat and arc. Heat and Arc are used to weld most conventional metals, added aluminum, steel, nickel alloys, copper alloys, and many more.
TIG workers use TIG welding for steel, stainless steel, chromoly, aluminum, nickel alloys, magnesium, copper, brass, bronze, and gold. The TIG welding process is also useful for bike frames, lawnmowers, door handles, fenders, and many more.

4. Plasma Arc Welding
Plasma Arc welding is a precision technique. Plasma Arc is commonly used in aerospace applications where metal thickness is 0.015 of an inch. An engine blade or an air seal would be a good example of such an application. Plasma Arc welding is similar to TIG welding in technique, but the electrode is recessed and the ionizing gases inside the Arc are used to create heat.
The combination of gases is argon for the plasma gas, with argon plus 2 to 5 percent hydrogen for the shielding gas. Helium is used for plasma gas but its heating reduces the current rating of the nozzle.
5. Electron Beam and Laser Welding
Electron beam and laser welding are high-energy welding techniques and extremely precise. The ability to focus and aim electron beams and lasers allows them to weld the smallest of implantable medical devices, but also deliver the power necessary to weld large spacecraft parts. The use of electron beams and lasers is versatile, powerful, and automatable. Both can produce beautiful welds from a metallurgical and aesthetic perspective. It is possible to achieve cost-effectiveness with both methods.

6. Gas Welding
GasWelding is not used anymore. It has been largely superseded by TIG welding. Gas welding kits need acetylene and oxygen and are very portable. Some people still use this to weld bits of car exhaust back together.
There is currently a huge shortage of skilled Welders in the whole world. A lot of young people decided to choose Welding technician as a career.
